This spring, designers offer a variety of denim garments. Denim overalls, dresses, shirts and skirts are the main trends of this summer 2015.
May 5 – 10, 2015 Bridal Week will traditionally take place in Barcelona. This year the event celebrates its 25th anniversary. More than 200 Spanish and foreign fashion houses will present outfits and accessories for the newlyweds. USA is honorary guest country at this anniversary edition of Bridal Week; designer Katharine Polk will present new collections by Houghton during the show Gaudí Novias.
On the 8th of May in Barcelona models will not only demonstrate 26 romantic images, but also present 6 impressive silk garments, created especially for the Catalan festival.

Palo Alto Market takes place in Barcelona in the old textile factory every first weekend of the month. This market was opened in December of 2014 and is very popular with citizens and tourists. The market was opened by foundation of the same name, and in particular by the designer Javier Mariscal. There is a flea market where they sell antiques, designer clothes and accessories; there are also small manufacturies, where they create different thing: from glasses to bikes, here you can find restaurants on wheels… Street performers every time prepare an entertainment program. Your children can take part in a game or a workshop for kids. The next fair is to be held in May, 2 and 3.

Five of the most striking and characteristic dresses of everyday Spanish fashion (autumn-winter 2015-2016 collection), presented at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFWM), will become part of the permanent exhibition in The Costume Museum in Madrid (avenida de Juan de Herrera 2). The decision to expose the dresses has been taken by the Association of Spanish Fashion Designers (ACME), Capital Exhibition Centre IFEMA and the museum itself.
Looking at the promotional photos of spring-summer collection by Dolce & Gabbana it is evident that this time the inspiration didn’t come from the homeland of famous designers, but from Spain. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have actively participated in the shoot: one of them as a photographer and the other as an art director. The campaign creators have decided to show succession of generations and the proximity between the Italian and Spanish cultures. As a result there is a bright campaign, which has involved not only young people, what is so typical for the world of fashion, but also elderly people. Accompanied by passionate flamenco music, models have shown the garments of the new spring-summer collection 2015 and new Dolce & Gabbana accessories.
Barcelona is one of the bigest shopping centers in Europe. Many of the famous clothing manufacturers have set up their flagship stores here. Barcelona is visited annually by millions of tourists willing to spend money on fashion items, that is why companies have decided to increase its presence in this city.
In the nearest future, it is planned to enlarge Zara retail store at the intersection of Gran Via and Paseo de Gracia. The total area will become more than 5000 m2, making it the largest store of the chain in the world. Moreover, according to some rumors, it seems that Grupo Inditex plans to open Zara boutique in the BBVA building.
The company plans to open the largest Mango boutique in Spain, which will be located on Carrer de la Canuda. it is scheduled to open the boutique with an area of 2,800 m2 in second half of 2015.
Recently, on Plaza Cataluña, was opened the largest store in the world of Desigual, which also is planning to attach extra thousand m2 of retail space in 2016. Here in the same place one of outlets by Urban Outfitters has been established.
December 9, 2014 the menswear brand Macson opened the flagship store on Paseo de Gracia, 110. The new store has two floors of 320 m2 area. The interior of the boutique is designed in gray, white and black colors and made of marble and wood. The customers of new flagship store can find here three lines of Macson collections: tailoring, clothing and accessories. According to Domingo Obradors, the commercial director, this store is able to convey the true image of Macson: it is simple, versatile and has a unique style, which are the main characteristics of the brand.
November 20 famous American brand boutique Urban Outfitters was opened on Plaza Catalunya. The new multibrand store has the shopping area of 1870 square meters. Here you can find unique accessories, fashion clothes, gadgets, gifts, books and music. Previously all these items could be purchased only online. Limited collections of famous brands such as Won Hundred, Libertine Libertine, Unif and Pippa Lynn are now available in Urban Outfitters. Boutique has an industrial-style design with a hint of Spanish flavor.
Cosmetic brand The Body Shop is a member of the L’Oréal Group. After the reconstruction the new boutique is opening on Carrer de Provença, 245. Currently, The Body Shop has 62 boutiques in Spain, And it is planned to expand the network up to 75 outlets. This year was opened boutiques in Andorra, Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona), and in Seville. The brand was created in 1976 in England, and now is famous worldwide for promotion of natural environmentally friendly cosmetics. In 2013 the total turnover of The Body Shop was about 836 million euros.
Secretaries of tourism and trade in Spain Isabel Borrego and Jaime Garcia Legaz have proposed to simplify visa procedures to increase shopping tourism (only for citizens of the UAE, Peru and Colombia for now).
The program also changes VAT reclaim process for non-EU citizens, an also aims to increase the number of advertising campaigns in the Spanish market. It is planned to introduce additional flights to the countries ‘the priority of the consumer market of Spanish goods’ (mainly Asian countries) etc. For this program will be allocated 2.8 million euros.
